1-4 Player Multiplayer Esports Coop
Core Defense is a competitive multiplayer cooperative game in which players compete against enemy robots to achieve a high score. This game is featured in the Omni Arena arcade attraction, so matches are approximately 7 minutes long and are limited to 1-4 players.

Maximize Your Teams Score
In Core Defense, players earn points by destroying robots, collecting the bonus stars, defending the Powercore from being damaged, and destroying the giant mech that falls into the arena during the last round. Players must master all aspects of the game and perform a near-flawless run to achieve a top spot on the leaderboard.

Compete for Prize Money
At the end of three rounds, the team's final score is submitted to the online global leaderboard. This leaderboard was used in Virtuix's $100,000 prize pool contests throughout the year. This resulted in several Esports teams going to Family Entertainment Centers to submit their best score every month.

My Role as Game Director and Producer
As the Game Director and Producer for Core Defense, I was responsible for the overall vision of the project and for getting the project completed within the required time. This project was completed over a two-year time period with a team of 5 developers. The biggest challenge that we faced during the development of this project was that the platform (Omni-directional treadmill and content platform) for which we were making the game was still being developed. This meant that we did not know details about how our customers were going to be playing the game. This resulted in multiple design changes throughout the development. The project started as a demo for tradeshows but eventually turned into a full game for players to play at Family Entertainment Centers.
